Professor (Education and Research) in Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy and/or Exercise and Rehabilitation 

Grade 10, starting salary £62,727 pro rata to 0.6 FTE

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Professor in Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy and/or Exercise and Rehabilitation in the growing School of Allied Health Professions. The post holder will have clinical exercise rehabilitation and/or cardio-respiratory physiotherapy expertise and be expected to make a substantial contribution to the research agenda of the School, leading research in cardio-respiratory research. You will offer support and academic leadership in the School as well as contribute as an expert to teaching across the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. The School offers high quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision and is part of a wider research community via the Faculty Research Institutes. Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and Exercise Science are established and growing programmes within the School. From September 2019 we have successfully recruited to a 4 year MSci in Physiotherapy, and since January 2020 a pre-registration Masters in Physiotherapy. A new MSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics is scheduled to recruit for a January 2022 start. 

You will play a part supporting the development of educational initiatives (especially in the BSc Rehabilitation and Exercise Science programme) that are aligned with the School strategic direction and focus. You will have a PhD in a related subject that supports the School profile, a higher degree in an area complimentary to Cardio-respiratory rehabilitation and relevant professional membership. (e.g. HCPC, ACSM, BASES, BASRAT, CIMSPA or equivalent). You will also have a track record of substantial contribution to professional / clinical services associated with cardio-respiratory medicine and exercise rehabilitation and a proven track record of successful engagement in research (e.g. grant success, high quality publications, impact nationally/ internationally) and substantial experience of UG and PG teaching to include CVR.
