BASES appoints Dr Adam Gledhill FBASES as Editor of the Sport and Exercise Scientist

BASES has recently appointed Dr Adam Gledhill FBASES as Editor of The Sport and Exercise Scientist. Adam, a Course Director: Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Leeds Beckett University, brings a range of experience and skills to the role, having a demonstrable record of editorial responsibilities, publications, and engagement with BASES. Adam is currently an Associate Editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine and serves as a peer-reviewer for several of the world’s most respected academic journals.

Adam also has an extensive publication record within sport and exercise science, having published over 120 outputs, drawing on national and international collaborations, including journal articles, conference communications, book chapters, professional practice articles and letters.

Adam is a Chartered Scientist and a BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist. He was recognised by BASES in 2019 for his contributions to the Association and sport and exercise science through the award of Fellowship of BASES. He was recently appointed Chair of the Division of Psychology and has fulfilled voluntary roles as part of the BASES Undergraduate Endorsement Committee, working as part of a team to develop the current BUES Framework. In 2020, Adam was the recipient of the BASES Applied Practitioner Award.

Bringing his blend of research, teaching and applied practice experience, Adam will assume his new role in January 2021 and will lead the production of the Summer 2021 edition of The Sport and Exercise Scientist.
