Applications sought for student representatives on BASES Equality, Diversity & Inclusion committee

21st July 2020

By promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, BASES will create greater opportunity for any individual to fulfil their science- and practice-based potential, irrespective of their background or circumstances. In so doing it will also help to better serve society by attracting the widest possible talent to the sport and exercise science workforce and fostering a greater diversity of scientific ideas, research, practice and technology.

BASES is committed to widening participation in science education, practice, and the workplace. The Board of BASES recently established a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and appointed a Board Diversity Champion.

We are actively seeking interest from BASES student members to apply to become student reps on the Committee.

Further details on the EDI Committee and the person specification can be found here

For an informal chat about the Committee remit and time commitment, please contact Ian Wilson, Executive Director (iwilson@bases.org.uk).

To apply, please submit a single page of A4, outlining your experience in equality, diversity and inclusion matters and how you match the person specification.

Please email this to iwilson@bases.org.uk by noon on Friday 14 August 2020.

Members of the BASES EDI Committee will review all applications and will confirm the appointment of two new student members of the Committee by the end of August 2020, in time for its next meeting in September 2020.
