BASES Diversity Data monitoring 2024

3rd June 2024

To better understand our members, BASES captures data at the point of becoming a member and when renewing membership. Members are asked to complete a short diversity data form for protected characteristics, including an option for ‘prefer not to say’ and this is stored securely and anonymously. The plan is to review this data on an annual basis to monitor trends.

Please see here for an analysis of the 2024 data.

Dr Laura Johnson (Laura.Johnson@edgehill.ac.uk) and Dr Richard Buscombe (R.M.Buscombe@uel.ac.uk) from the EDI Advisory Group, who analysed the current data, said, “The work of the EDI AG, alongside the BASES Board, in enhancing our approach to data capture has enabled us to gain much better insight as to the makeup of the BASES membership. We can now also monitor change annually and gauge if, as an organisation, BASES is becoming more diverse."
