BASES Leadership and Management training – have your say
21st February 2023
Recent discussions in BASES have centred on how we can support early and mid-career members with their professional development. One idea being explored is for BASES to create some leadership and management training programmes for members aspiring to step into a management role or anyone early in their managerial career. To gain more information on this we have conducted some initial survey work with BASES Fellows to see what their thoughts were. Their responses were overwhelmingly in favour of moving this idea forwards (80% in favour).
Consequently, we now want to open up the survey to every BASES member to gather as much input as possible. The survey is looking for a range of information on topics such as
- levels of management experience in members
- topics that ought to be covered in programmes
- preferences for the kinds of support (e.g. workshops or mentoring) people favour.
- how important it is whether BASES training needs to lead to a recognised L&M qualification
You can post specific thoughts (positive or negative) on the Padlet which can be accessed below.
Please complete the survey if you possibly can, it is quite brief and will only take a short amount of time.
We are looking to be able to feedback to the membership in the early summer.
Many thanks
Dr Andy Borrie & Dr Andy Miles
