Zoe becomes the first ever female Chair of the Association, a great achievement. She will take up post in November 2020 and will hold office for a four-year period (one year as Chair-Elect under the outgoing Chair, Prof Richard Tong FBASES, then three years as Chair).
BASES Chair, Prof Richard Tong FBASES said, “I am delighted that Zoe has been voted in by peers as Chair-Elect of BASES. I have worked with Zoe over the years and know she will do a great job of chairing the Association once my current tenure concludes in November 2021. The Executive Director, Ian Wilson, and I look forward to working with Zoe over the transitional year from November 2020.”
On her appointment, Zoe said, “I’m delighted to take the Chair Elect role, and, as the first female Chair of the Association this makes it incredibly special. I have worked with the Board and wider membership for a number of years now and it gives me great pleasure to be able to lead the association to build on the work of previous Chairs and the work of the Executive Director with his team.”
