BASES sign MoU with Sport and Exercise Science New Zealand
16th December 2018
This Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) outlines the defined agreed collaborative relationship
between the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and
Sport and Exercise Science New Zealand (SESNZ) for purposes that enhance the
activities of each organisation and foster co-operation in an international
context for the benefit of all professions and professionals involved within
the respective organisations.
Sport and Exercise Science New
Zealand (SESNZ) is the key professional body for the sport and exercise
sciences in New Zealand. SESNZ’s mission
is to support and promote the continued development of sport and exercise
science within New Zealand through evidence-based practice. SESNZ is the lead organisation, within New
Zealand, for accreditation of higher education sport and exercise science
graduates.
The MoU was signed by Dr Keith Tolfrey FBASES and Prof Nick Draper (SESNZ).
Dr Tolfrey says "it’s an exciting venture to forge a relationship with a
long-established, yet continuously evolving sport and exercise science learned
body that will provide members from both groups with further benefits and
opportunities. The long-term plan is to map accreditation and certification
from BASES and SESNZ to improve transfer of key skills, knowledge and
experience for professional members wanting to work in either location."
