BASES Student Conference 2022

We regret to announce that the Local Organising Committee has decided to cancel this month’s Student Conference due to an insufficient number of delegates who registered by the event deadline. The Student Conference was to have taken place at the University of Huddersfield over 26 to 27 April 2022, however it was decided that it would not be possible to deliver a conference to the high standards that the Organising Committee would expect and that to go ahead with low numbers would be unfair to the delegates attending.

The Organising Committee had worked incredibly hard over the last 12+ months and had established an excellent line up of speakers, including an Olympic athlete to speak at the dinner. Refunds will be arranged for those delegates who had registered by the event deadline. We are looking at ways to promote those abstracts that were to have been presented during the conference and, again, the Organising Committee will be in touch with those members.

BASES shares the disappointment and frustration that the conference cannot go ahead and thanks the Organising Committee for their tireless efforts in developing a great programme, securing key speakers and creating a strong social programme for the event.
