Following open recruitment over the summer, congratulations are extended to our new Psychology Division Chair who has been appointed by the Human Resources, Remuneration and Appointments Committee. Dr Amy Whitehead will take up post with effect from 16 November 2023, and her appointment will be noted at the AGM in November.
Division of Psychology Chair – Dr Amy Whitehead, Liverpool John Moores University
Commenting on her appointment, Amy said: ”I am excited with the appointment and am looking forward to the challenges ahead. I am motivated to continue the great work that the Psychology Division has been doing and support this Division to grow from strength to strength. EDI is a continual strategic challenge. This is something that BASES is doing an excellent job of but is something that can always be developed. I am keen to see more work across Divisions, with multidisciplinary CPD delivered more regularly, which would allow for all Divisions to have an appreciation of other areas. SEPAR is a continuous challenge for the Division, given the speed in which it has grown and the number of candidates we have on the programme. This is testament to those who created this and as a supervisor, I know it’s a fantastic programme, however, there will be a continuous cycle of learning and developing for this programme. I am keen to ensure that we are generating new graduate members that see value in BASES and the Division, therefore, ensuring the Division is always current and offers value for money is important.”
Amy will become a Director of the Association and will have a Board Induction in October, before attending the November 2023 Board meeting as an Observer. Amy will then take up her role following the AGM this November.
