16th January 2024

The new agreement will promote and enhance co-operation and co-ordination between both organisations.

The Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) signifies a strengthening in relationship between the BPS and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), with both organisations committed to building on the already successful working relationship.

The MoC covers a variety of areas, including collaborating on research, developing and sharing best practice and creating and promoting CPD opportunities.

The agreement was signed by BPS Chief Executive Sarb Bajwa and Ian Wilson, BASES Chief Executive Officer and can be read in full on the BASES website.

BPS Chief Executive Sarb Bajwa commented: “We are pleased that both of our organisations are committed to the promotion and development of further training and CPD opportunities for all of our members.

We hope to work collaboratively with BASES, taking best practice from both organisations and utilising this to further the profession of Sport and Exercise Psychology.”

Dr Amy Whitehead, Chair of the BASES Psychology Division said: “It's fantastic that both organisations have renewed an official relationship to bring together and develop the production and dissemination of research, share best practice and deliver shared CPD opportunities.
