BUES Pilot Underway
28th August 2018
The BASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (BUES) Review Task Group was established in 2017 with the objective of ensuring the BUES programme continues to effectively provide students, parents, employers and sport and exercise science departments with a single, recognized endorsement that sets the standard for sport and exercise science undergraduate degree programmes in the UK.
After completing a review of the BASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme and proposing a series of recommended changes to the scheme’s criteria and method of assessment, the Task Group are pleased to announce the launch of a pilot of the new scheme.
Six universities have signed up to take part in the pilot: Leeds Beckett University, Loughborough University; University of Bath; Solent University; Kingston University and the University of Sunderland. The pilot will last until the end of the year, with the launch of the revised scheme planned for January 2019.
BASES will continue to accept new applications and renewals based on the existing criteria and application documents up to and including January 2019. Any applications or renewals received after January 2019 will need to complete the new application form and meet the revised BUES criteria.
