Everton FC Joins BASES Accredited Partnership Scheme
18th November 2024
BASES is delighted to announce that Everton FC has been accepted on to the BASES Accreditation Partnership Scheme.
BASES Accreditation enables key employers and deployers in the sport and exercise science sector to support sport and exercise scientists to develop in their careers and support employers to safeguard their employees and clients.
Successfully approved organisations employing sport and/or exercise science staff can support their employees to apply for BASES Accreditation via a ‘streamlined’ direct application route. The streamlined route involves the development and submission of an accreditation application portfolio containing a supervisor report written by an Accredited BASES member or BASES Fellow of that accredited organisation.
Everton’s official accreditation status means they join a prestigious list of sporting institutions that have achieved accredited status, including the UK Institute of Sport (formerly the English Institute of Sport), Newcastle United FC, Leicester City FC and sportscotland Institute of Sport.
John McKeown, Head of Academy Sport Science at Everton FC, said: “We are delighted and proud that our work has been recognised by BASES in achieving official accreditation status of their Accreditation Partnership Scheme.
“We are firm believers in the BASES Accreditation process which is the cornerstone of our daily practice at Finch Farm, as we strive to raise standards in the application of sport and exercise science.
“We are excited to work with BASES in the provision of a clear development pathway for our staff, continuing to raise the bar in scientific quality assurance at Everton Football Club.”
Dr Paul Jones FBASES, Chair of BASES Accreditation Advisory Group added: “We are delighted to accept Everton Football Club as a BASES Accreditation Partner.
“We are looking forward to working more closely with them as they support their practitioners to achieve BASES accredited status, thus ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance and impactful practice for their club.”
