11th November 2024
The BASES Postgraduate Endorsement Scheme (BPGES) has been designed to allow students to evidence, expediently, the completion of an appropriate M-level qualification and aligns well for those wishing to become accredited as a BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist. In essence, this scheme will support future Sport and Exercise Scientists choose an MSc. programme that is BASES endorsed, and which will appropriately position them for application to direct Accreditation upon completion.
We are delighted to announce that the following pilot programme has recently been endorsed:
University of Portsmouth - MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Performance
"Achieving the first-ever BASES postgraduate endorsement in the UK for our MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Performance is a proud milestone for the University of Portsmouth," commented Dr Emma Neupert, Course Leader. "This endorsement not only reflects our commitment to academic excellence and industry standards but also enhances our postgraduates' professional development pathways in sport and exercise science. It positions our programme as a benchmark for quality in postgraduate education within the field."
Commenting on the recent first endorsement of this scheme, Dr Matthew Timmis FBASES, co-Chair of the HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group said, “Being able to endorse the first postgraduate degree through the BPGES is an important milestone for BASES as we are now able to recognise and endorse postgraduate delivery in addition to undergraduate delivery. The HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group would like to thank the institutions and wider BASES membership who were involved in the development of the BPGES”.
