First courses to be endorsed under the new BASES Postgraduate SEPAR Endorsement Scheme

The BASES Postgraduate SEPAR Endorsement Scheme (PSES) has been designed to allow registrants to evidence, expediently, the completion of an appropriate M-level qualification for entry onto to SEPAR, which covers the relevant knowledge-based HCPC Standards of Proficiencies. In essence, this scheme will support future Sport and Exercise Psychologists choose an MSc. programme that is BASES endorsed, and which will appropriately position them for application to SEPAR upon completion.
We are delighted to announce that the following three pilot programmes have recently been endorsed.
- University of Bolton - MSc Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology
- Liverpool John Moores University - MSc Sport Psychology
- University of Portsmouth - MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology
Commenting on the new BASES Postgraduate SEPAR Endorsement Scheme, Dr Denise Hill FBASES, Deputy Chair of the Psychology Division said, “Building on the success of the BASES Undergraduate Endorsement scheme (BUES), I am delighted that programme leaders can now apply for BASES MSc endorsement, which will enable their sport and / or exercise psychology postgraduates to enter the SEPAR process proficiently. The scheme is highly advantageous for universities, students, and employers alike.”

The HE Endorsement Advisory Group extend their congratulations to the SEPAR development team, the SEPAR reviewers and to the institutions, who enthusiastically engaged with the rigorous and robust pilot scheme. The HE Endorsement Advisory Group were pleased to support the first BASES postgraduate programme endorsements in the UK. The work completed paves the way forward for wider postgraduate programme endorsement.”

Applications can be submitted at any time throughout the year, but will only be reviewed following key deadline dates, the next of which is 6 May 2022.
