Member proposals invited for BASES Conference 2023 programme

23rd January 2023

As part of our commitment to expand the breadth of content at BASES Conference 2023 (at the CBS Arena Coventry on 16-17 November) and enable greater input from the membership, we are inviting BASES professional members to submit proposals for invited parallel sessions. This year, up to two parallel invited sessions in the BASES Conference 2023 programme will be from proposals submitted by members. Parallel invited sessions will be either invited lectures (one presenter) or invited symposia (two presenters). Sessions with more than one presenter should aim to cover both the fundamental science and high-quality applied work. All applications for invited symposia should demonstrate the potential to provoke good discussion with BASES delegates.

All submissions will be considered by the BASES Conference Planning Group, who will select the successful proposals based on topicality and interest to members. The lead presenter must be a professional member of BASES and must be available to present at the BASES Conference on either 16 or 17 November 2023.

BASES will cover the delegate fees for the BASES Conference (two-day non-residential package) and the Conference Gala Dinner for up to two presenters (per session).

BASES welcomes proposals across all sport and exercise disciplines. Proposals are particularly welcomed that involve fundamental research and/or applied practice of an inter-disciplinary and/or collaborative nature. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver your research and share insight with a wide audience of peers at BASES flagship CPD event.

BASES is also committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We therefore encourage applications from individuals who meet the required criteria, but we particularly encourage applications from women, individuals from ethnically diverse communities, those who have a disability, or members of LGBTQ+ community.

To submit your proposal please complete the proposal form and email to officemanager@bases.org.uk. The deadline for submitting proposals is 5 pm on Monday 20 February 2023.

Please note: BASES will be inviting abstract submissions for free communication presentations and poster presentations for BASES Conference 2022 as normal from around April 1.

The deadline for all abstract submissions (free communication presentation, poster and 5 slides in 5 minutes free communication presentation) will be 10am Monday 12 June 2023.
