Apply for these awards: All accepted abstracts will be automatically considered for a relevant award. The Award Panel may choose to shortlist presentations based on the scientific merit of the abstracts.

Aim of the awards

The BASES Annual Student Conference awards seek to reward outstanding contributions to sport and exercise sciences by BASES members. Awards are presented for research (free communication and poster) in separate undergraduate and postgraduate student categories.

Award criteria

  1. The applicant must be the presenting, and thus first named, author of the abstract.
  2. The applicant must be a member of BASES.
  3. Awards will be given for excellence, reflected in the academic content, presentation and defence quality of the free communication presentation.
  4. The Awards Panel's decision is final in all cases.
  5. The closing date is the deadline for abstract submission.
  6. These awards will not be made in the absence of submissions of sufficient merit.
